Mrs. Vivien C. Wilson Rites Sunday Afternoon

Mrs. Vivien Crenshaw Wilson, 79, died in Jacksonville, Fla., September 24th, following an extended illness. Mrs. Wilson, the former Vivien Fredericka Crenshaw, was descended from one of the oldest and most prominent families in Butler county, Alabama. She was a daughter of Frederick William and Sarah Lewis Crenshaw, born May 8, 1880, on "The Ridge," and reared there.

A first degree graduate, May, 1900, of Judson Female Institute, Marion, Ala., she received a diploma from Alabama Normal School, Livingston, in June, 1914. She was married Jan. 3, 1901, to Thomas Archillus Wilson, of Prattville, Ala.

Mrs. Wilson taught in Alabama public schools for thirty years prior to 1930, and later resided with her daughter in Jacksonville, Fla. She was of high educational and moral character.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Sarah W. Sherman, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two granddaughters, also of Jacksonville; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. McNeil Smith, of Prattville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at the Crenshaw Cemetery on The Ridge at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, with the Rev. Edward G. Holtam officiating. Dunklin Funeral Home directing.
