Faye Elizabeth Berry Cassel passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at the age of 91.
She was preceded in death by husband, David Wells Cassel Jr., in 2004; her twin brother, Ray, in 1992; brothers, Randolph in 1991 and Emmett in 1986; her mother, Elizabeth Texana Berry, in 1970; and her father, Henry Napoleon Berry, in 1971.

Mrs. Cassel graduated from Henderson High School in 1938 and from Nielson Beauty School in Dallas in 1939. After a short career as a hairdresser, she found work as a telephone operator with Southwestern States Telephone Co. in Henderson from September 1939 until Oct. 6, 1942, when she married David Cassel. She continued to work for various phone companies in cities throughout the United States as she and David moved to different locations with the armed services until April 1953. Leaving the military life behind, she and David settled in Greenville. In 1958 Faye joined the Citizens' National Bank in Greenville where she worked as a teller and enjoyed many close friendships until retirement in 1971.

She is remembered for her beautiful smile, her patient and calm disposition, her generous and loving spirit, her devotion to family and friends and her love of animals.

There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Candace Klein officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Henderson Animal Shelter, 2257 U.S. Highway 259 S., Henderson, 75654; or to a charity of one's choosing.
