A graduate of East Tennessee State University, Mrs. McNeal taught Biology at Lee H. Edwards/Asheville High School for over 40 years. She was an active member of First Christian Church of Asheville where she served as a Deacon, Elder, and member of the choir.
She is survived by her sons, James McNeal and wife, Robyn of Asheville and John McNeal and wife Stevie of Chapel Hill; daughter Jennifer McHarg and husband Michael of Wilson; sister Jessie Burroughs of Danville, VA; ten grandchildren, Rachel, Daniel, Stephen, Paige, Abby, Maddie, Chloe, Gabby, Duncan, and Dawson Claire, and great-grandchildren, Lia and Liam.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 15, 2012 in the chapel of Morris Funeral Home, 304 Merrimon Avenue. Dr. Tom Everton will officiate. Interment will follow at Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
