James E. Brodrie passed away Thursday, June 20, 1991 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. Age 93 years. Mr. Bodrie was born September 3, 1897 in Pinconning. He married Gertrude Schultz in 1922. She predeceased him in 1964. He then married Helen Denton in 1966. She survives him. Mr. Bodrie was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Marine corps during World War I. He was a general foreman at Grey Iron Foundry for 37 years, retiring in 1960.
Surviving besides his wife Helen are three daughters, Mrs. James (Valeta) Allen, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Quinnan and Mrs. Dawn Deisler, all of Saginaw; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Nelda Laginess, Southgate; Mabel Smith, Bellevue, Michigan; Alice Donathan and Madonna Donathan, both of Fife Lake, Mrs. Marcella Atler, Mancelona. Mr. Bodrie was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters......interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery....
