Allen Ferrell, whose serious illness has been previously mentioned, died at his home one mile west of Rainsboro, June 3rd, 1898. He was born near Bainbridge in Ross county, November 26, 1835 and resided there until he was 38 years old when he came to this vicinity and has resided here ever since. He was well known in this part of the county and ranked high in the scale of honor. He was faithful to his obligations, true in his friendships, generous toward the needy, obliging as a neighbor, and kind as a husband and father. On the 25th day of July 1855, he was united in marriage with Miss Sophia Mooman, who survives him. The following named children were born to them: John, who resides at Sabina, Zora Crozier, whose home is at Lima, Jefferson and Donna that live in this vicinity, Zachariah, who is still at home and Ocia who died a few years since in the days of her young womanhood.
