Edwin Joshua Anderson was born in the Piney Woods community of Clinton Co., KY on November 12, 1912. He was the son of Ulysses Sherman and Nova Bell Dick Anderson, and the brother of Samuel Paul and Sally Marie Anderson. He was married to Effie Faustena Bertram Anderson, and the father of four children: Edwin Snow, Donna Sue, Sherman McWhorter and Earl Rex. Effie passed away tragically in 1941, and she is buried in the Cartwright Cemetery. He later married Edna Upchurch of Clinton Co., and relocated to Crystal River, FL, where he lived until his death on January 30, 2000 at the age of 87.
