Clack Stone Berger, son of Thomas A. and Elvira H. Berger was born on the farm where he spent his entire life, on January 1, 1856 and died October 9, 1927, age 71 years, 9 months and 9 days, after an illness of two years.

He was one of eleven children, eight boys and three girls, none of whom survive except the three sisters; Mrs. Kate Chambers of Jonesburg, Mo; Mrs. Mollie Davidson of Belleflower, Mo; and Mrs. Elviria Martin of Jacksonville, Florida.

He was married to Miss Sarah Robert Thompson, October 15th, 1879. To this union was born six children; Elviria who lives at home, Allen, Durant, OK; Eolian, Yoder, Wyo; Anne, Caney, Kansas; Robert, Middlton, MO; and Annie who died at the age of twenty one months.

Left to mourn his departure are his wife, five children, two grandsons and three sisters, besides a wide circle of friends.

Mr. Berger was a citizen held in high esteem by all his neighbors, pleasant and genial with all he met. He was a devoted companion, a loving father, always willing to make any sacrifice for them. He will be greatly missed in the home and community.
