Charles Stanton was born in Hampton, Virginia. He married Margaret Virginia Brett in 1933, and shortly after they moved to Falls Church, Va. Charles ran a heating and air conditioning business in Merrifield, Va. In 1955, they moved to Fairfax City to a house he had built from plans he found on the street. He was a Quartermaster in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was an avid boater after the war and had a 45 ft cabin cruiser that he loved. He died at home in Fairfax.
