Beverly L. Metz
Beverly L. Metz, 71, of South Bend, IN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at her home. She was born on October 9, 1940 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Herschel and Lura (Tennant) Enfield. She has been a lifelong resident of the Michiana area. She attended the Gospel Center Missionary Church in South Bend. For several years she provided day care in her home for many families in the community.
In South Bend, on April 3, 1959, she was married to Kenneth E. Metz, Sr., who survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Johanna L. (Steven) Wandel of Sodus, MI, and sons, Kenneth E. (Nancy) Metz, Jr. and Todd A. (Donna) Metz, both of South Bend, IN, grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Cameron, Kyle, Joshua, Nicholas, and Brianna, sisters, Gloria Whiteman of South Bend and Donnabelle Cain of Buchanan, Patricia Woods of Mishawaka, brothers, Gordon Enfield of South Bend, and Doug Enfield of Angola, IN.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marilyn Casper; and a brother, George Enfield.
We will miss Beverly, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother as she was a strong woman who excelled in all these areas. She always put family and friends first.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 17, 2012 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
