Shirley Belanger May 18, 1924 - July 29, 2009 EAST KILLINGLY - Shirley Elsie (Adams) Belanger, 85, formerly of Country Acres, died Wednesday at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was born in Killingly May 18, 1924, daughter of the late Leroy Franklin and Bertha (Soule) Adams. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Belanger who died October 22, 2002. She worked at Acme Cotton for 47 years, retiring in 1989. Mrs. Belanger was a member of the Union Baptist Church in East Killingly where she served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher for many years and a choir member. She was a volunteer at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home, RSVP and a member of AARP. She is survived by her children Charles R. Belanger Jr. of Putnam, Carol Pelletier of Bristol, CT and Kenneth Belanger of FL; seven grandchildren, David Jarvis, James Jarvis, Matthew Jarvis, Rachel Jarvis, Joshua Bingham, William Bingham and Michael Bingham. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jacqueline Jarvis. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at The First Apostolic Church of Danielson. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery, East Killingly.
