Justice of the Peace Frank Kelly ordered an autopsy after Claude Wesley Pollard, 60, of 1516 W. Austin St., was found dead Thursday afternoon between two grain storage bins about four miles from Port Lavaca off the Victoria Highway.
Kelly said there was no visible cause of death. He said Pollard's car was found parked on the highway from where it was presumed that he walked across the Southern Pacific railroad tracks to the storage bins.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department was called to the location after the body was found at approximately 4 p.m.
the autopsy will be performed Friday morning in Victoria.
Funeral arrangements were pending at Richardson Funeral Home.

Justice of the Peace Frank Kelly ruled Friday that Claude Wesley Pollard, 60, of 1516 W. Austin, whose body was found Thursday afternoon between two grain storage bins off the Victoria Highway four miles from Port Lavaca, died at 1 a.m. Thursday from a heart attack.
Kelly made the ruling after receiving the results of an autopsy he had ordered.
Pollard, who had retired after 20 years employment with Union Carbide, was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Oklahoma. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Kisiah officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Victoria.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Clota Head Pollard of Port Lavaca; two daughters, Mrs. Lola Hedrick of Victoria and Miss Claudia Dean Pollard of California; a son, Darrell Pollard of Port Lavaca; two sisters, who reside in Florida; two brothers, Glenn and Ray Pollard of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
