Ricky Parr was a Firefighter with the Whitfield County (Dalton,Ga.)Fire Dept.He joined the fire dept. in 1996 and became a Lieutenant.Took a medical leave in 1999 after becoming blind from diabetes.He loved his work and attended events as long as he was able to go.He always kept a scanner by his side to know how his friends were doing.His last ride was on the back of A Whitfield County Fire engine,as his body was transported to Poplar Springs Cemetery to be buried.
