James Andrew Grubaugh, son of D. C. and Annie Grubaugh departed this life March 11, 1907. Aged 38 years, 10 months and 25 days,. Deceased was married to Myrtle Longnecker March 15th, 1902. The union was a happy one. He ever exerted a noble effort to make his wife happy with whom he lived but five short years. Deceased was converted and joined the United Brethern in Christ church about eight years ago. Altho for a time, his Christian zeal abated, yet the day before he was married he revewed his covenant with God, since which time he has faithfully discharged his obligations to his family, his church and to his God. Many times during his long and painful illness, which he bore so patiently, he expressed himself as begin thoroughly resigned to the will of God. He had a strong desire to live for the well fare and happiness of his loved ones. Yet he often siad that if it were God;s will that he was ready and willing to go when he called. Even the day that he left us he remarked that even in his worst paroxysms of pain that Jesus was so very near and precious. He leaves to mourn, a grief stricken widow, father, mother, two sisters, Mrs. Fanny Berry, of Newton, Ill., and Mrs. Lena Collins, of Robinson, Ill., besides many other relatives and friends. But our great loss is his eternal gain from in what we call death, he achieved wonderful victory. The funeral was preached by Rev. S. O. Stolotz at the U. B.church in New Hebron. Interment in New Hebron cemetery.
