DUNCAN, ALMA JUANITA, 84, of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge. Born Feb. 12, 1918, in Coalfield, she was the daughter of William Jackson and Mary Lou Etta McGlothin Jackson, both now deceased. She lived in Oliver Springs for 65 years and was a member of Oliver Springs United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and the widow of John Hayes Duncan. Her family said she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. Mrs. Duncan is survived by her daughter, Carol Qualls and her husband, Doug, of Oliver Springs; her son, Norman Duncan and his wife, Diana, of Johnson City; a grandson, Chris Duncan and his wife, Kristy, who made their home with her; three granddaughters, Amanda Duncan, Audrey Duncan and Amber Duncan; and a great-grandson, Brady Duncan of Oliver Springs. She is also survived by her brother, William R. Jackson of Clinton; and two sisters-in-law,Gladys Foust of Lake City and Elizabeth Wallace of Clinton. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Bobby Barton officiating. The graveside service will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway. The family will receive friends from noon and 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. [From The Oak Ridger]
