OBITUARY

Virgil Collins Adair, 64 year old Stilwell resident, died Friday, December 20, 1968 in the Washington General Hospital, Fayetteville, Arkansas, after a long illness.

Adair, born October 3, 1904, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, was a retired auto mechanic. He was married November 4, 1928 to Golda Bigby.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Golda Adair of the home in Stilwell; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmie Ruth Carson, Cherokee, North Carolina and Mrs. Judy Gail Moss, Stilwell; two grandsons, Chris Adair Carson and Brad Rogers Carson, Cherokee, North Carolina; one brother, M.B. Adair, Stilwell; and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Gordon and Mrs. Carrie Smith, both of Stilwell, Mrs. Daisy McCarty, Lincoln, Arkansas, and Mrs. Jessie McCordic, Los Angeles, California.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 22, in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. T.R. Bigby,Greenville, South Carolina, and the Rev. George Cook, Pentecostal Holiness Church pastor officiating. Interment was in the Stilwell City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bob J. Hall, Byrl Bigby, Gilbert Bigby, Byron Bigby, Jesse Adair and Bob Adair.

Virgil was the son of Jesse Eugene Adair (1868-1945) and Arcania Mae (Choate) Adair (1873-1935).

He married Golda Virginia Bigby on November 4, 1928 in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

They had a daughter, Jimmie Ruth Adair Carson, who was born on December 12, 1932 in Piney, Adair County, Oklahoma. Another daughter, Judy Gail Adair, was born on June 20, 1946.
