Louise Tomlinson Day was born in Tulia, Swisher County, Texas on April 21 1900 and died in Oklahoma City, Okla. on June 21, 1994 at the age of 94.
She married Fonie T. Day in August 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Anna Garnette Day; a son, Ronald L. Day. She is survived by her son Charles T. "Tommie" Day of Bethany, Okla. and a daughter, Marjorie DeLong of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
She was a member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She was also a member of many historical societies: Jamestown Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (she was a member of the Palo Duro Chapter for year.) Magna Charta Dames, Descendants of the Knights of the Royal Garter, Descendants of El Cid, National Society of Colonial Dames 17th Century, Daughters of American colonists, United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter 1181, Oklahoma City Huguenot Society of New Paltz, New York and the Oklahoma Heritage Association.
She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star and Past president of the Tulia chapter. She also worked for the Tulia Herald.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. June 29, 1994 at First Baptist Church in Tulia. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Oklahoma City Baptist Retirement Center, 9700 Mashburn, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
Louise wanted ashes spread across the Rose Hill Cemetery so technically she isn't buried there.
