Died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Lafayette General Hospital. He was 76, a resident of Opelousas and a native of New Orleans. He had been a hardware salesman in Opelousas for 40 years. Body at Lafond & Son Funeral Home, Opelousas, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday. Religious services at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Landry Catholic Church. Interment in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Stelly; a son, Wilbur Lanusse, Opelousas; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Diano, Mandeville, and Mrs. Robert R. Jones, Lafayette; three sisters, Mrs. Rober Laforgue [sic Robert Lafargue] and Mrs. Eddie Andry, both of New Orleans, and Sister Dorothy Lanusse, Baton Rouge; one brother, Paul Lanusse, New Orleans; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
