She was married to Donald Ray Raney, Sr. for 58 years.
Her children are: Donald Ray Raney, Jr., Donna Lynn Wilson and David Wayne Raney.
Her grandchildren are: Alan Wayne Phipps, Shaun Carl Raney, Brianna Susan Raney, Courtney Rae Raney, and Justin Lewis Seay.
She was sister to Beulah Pearl Campbell Warner, Glenn Wesley Campbell, and Ronnie Gene Campbell.
Geneva graduated from Garland High School in 1953, and attended Draughon's Business College, and Eastfield College. She was secretary for Texas Hosiery and Frank Jester Real Estate. She spent 3 years as an Air Force with with her husband in Tucson AZ. After his discharge, they returned to Garland where they purchased their present home where they have lived for 52 years.
Geneva was a great cook and her hobby was sewing.
In 1974, they purchased property on Lake Quitman in Wood County and built a vacation home where their extended family enjoyed summers and holidays.
Her husband Don, is a professional genealogist and she worked with him in their search for the ancestors. They traveled together to Fayette Co., PA, Warren Co., OH, Salt Lake City, UT, Charleston, SC, Huntsville, AL, and Atlanta, GA. She worked extensively with him to research and publish his first book in 2009, "Martin Varner, Texas Pioneer 1785-1844", and was assisting in the reserch for his second book that will be published in 2012, until she was overtaken by Alzheimer's.
Geneva enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and served as an assistant scout leader for all of her children.
She was a lovely and gracious lady who be greatly missed. Hope springs eternal!
