Mary Louise Lewis, formerly of Exeter Township, died Friday morning in the United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Township. She was a daughter of the late F. Russell and Blanche (Parrish) Lewis. She was born in Exeter Township and resided there for many years before relocating to West Pittston. She was a graduate of the Dallas Township High School. She was a lifetime member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She was a lay leader of the church, lay member to the Wyoming Conference of the Methodist Church and a certified lay speaker in the Wilkes-Barre District. Previously she taught church school and was a church trustee and was a member of the board of directors of the Wyoming Valley Council of Churches. She was employed by the Wyoming Area School District as a secretary for the reading department. She also had been a teller for the First National Bank of Wyoming and the United Penn Bank in Dallas. In later years, she was the business manager at the Wesley Village Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at noon Monday in the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. Jackson Cox of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1633 W. Eight St., Wyoming, PA 18644.
