George Conroy Atwood, 73, Cadiz, died at 8:55pm Sunday at his home after a long illness.
Services will be at 2pm Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home with burial in Hurricane Cemetery, Trigg County. Visitation will be after 6 tonight at the funeral home.
A native of Trigg County, he was born April 28, 1908, the son of the late George Ennis and Susie Adline Jones Atwood. Mr. Atwood was a retired carpenter and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Shaw Atwood; two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Robbie) Cothran and Mrs. Kenneth (Mae Lou) Lancaster, both of Trigg County; two sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Belle) Harrell, Murray, and Mrs. Reece(Emma) Mitchell, New York City, NY; and four grandchildren.
