SWANSEA, S.C. -- Dempsey Welton Peele, 20, of Swansea, died en route to a Columbia hospital Sunday afternoon.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. from the Salem Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. M.A. Brown Jr. Interment will be in the church yard. Culler Funeral Home of North is in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Lexington County, a son of Lucile Harley Peele and the late Otis Peele. He had lived in Swansea all his life and was a carpenter and a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lucile Harley Peele of the home; two sisters, Ms. Annette Berry of Swansea and Mrs. Bertha Kennedy of Columbia; four brothers, Horace Peele of Columbia, Harold Peele of North, Robert Peele and Otis Peele Jr., both of Swansea. A number of aunts and uncles also survive.
