Carol June Landes Banks was born May 1, 1934, in Ogden, Utah, to Ernest and Hazel Landes. Her childhood was spent in Ogden and she later moved to Lovell, where she completed her senior year of high school. In 1953 Carol married Kenneth Dalton Banks. They made their home in Cowley, where they raised their family.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She had a strong faith and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved family history work. She researched many of her ancestors and left a legacy of genealogy.

Carol served faithfully for 13 years, with her husband Ken, in the Billings Temple. She loved spending time with her family and was always there to love and support them.

Carol died on Sept. 7, 2012, in Lovell. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Victor and Grant Landes. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Banks, her sister Deanne Despain (Roy), brother Darrell (Carleen) and her children Cathleen May (Greg), Rick (Julie), Suzanne Winterholler (David), Michelle Reasch (Brent), Stephen (Christy), David (Michelle), 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Cowley LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Cowley Cemetery.
