Hartselle
The Rev. Hayes K. "Jack" Lemmond, 82, passed away September 8, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 10, 2012, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Hartselle with Dr. Mike Shaw, Dr. Jeff Redmond, and the Rev. Jerry Debell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Peck Funeral Home.
Rev. Lemmond was a member of First Baptist Church, Hartselle. He served churches in Louisiana and Alabama as a Minister of Music and served as pastor at Pinedale Baptist Church in Montgomery for 20 years. He was a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Seminary and composed numerous choral pieces.
Rev. Lemmond was born in Morgan County on May 20, 1930, to William Taylor Lemmond and Lois Allen Lemmond. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Phillip N. Lemmond; and two brothers, B.E. Lemmond and Harold T. Lemmond.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel N. Lemmond; one son, Kristopher Lemmond (Nancy) of Hayden; one daugther, Julie L. Saint (Curtis) of Trinity; one daughter-in-law, Donna Lemmond of Albertville; one brother, Bud Lemmond of Florence; three sisters, June Driver of Decatur, Ann Bowling and Clara Swader-Neely both of Somerville; seven grandchildren, Morgan Shultz (Dan), Graham Lemmond (Andrea), Jordan Lemmond, Sara Shaffer (Eric), Carly Williams, Jennifer Rains (Justin) and Kelly Lemmond; and two great-grandchildren, Braxton Thomas and Georgia Cate Schultz.
Pallbearers will be Graham Lemmond, Jordan Lemmond, Dan Schultz, Justin Rains, Buz Groover, Jim Hampton, Bill Kelly and Mert Lemmond.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Lovelady, Billy Mims, Mickey Godwin, Dennis Long, Jim Mansel, Ron Cole, Gray Strickland, Harvey Bowling, Lonnie Lemmond, Charles Swader and Jeff Lemmond.
