GLENDA RAE HALL
A graveside service for Glenda Rae Hall of Vernonia will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Vernonia Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Hall died in her home Thursday of a heart attack. She was 53.
Mrs. Hall was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Baker, Mont. Her maiden name was Normand. She was raised and went to school in Vernonia.
She and Leighton Lee Alford were married on May 18, 1959, in Stevenson, Wash. The couple lived in Prospect, Ellingberg, Wash., and Vernonia. Mr. Alford died in 1985.
Mrs. Hall had worked in a shake mill at Mist, had been a salesperson for Montgomery Ward and had been a parts driver for the Gasoline Alley junk yard. Also, she had been president of the Womens League at the Vernonia Golf Club. In 1980, she bought the Cut & Curl Beauty Shop in Vernonia, which she owned and operated for seven years.
On Nov. 20, 1985, she and William R. Hall were married in Reno, Nev.
Besides her husband, survivors include her daughters, Ruby M. Arrey of Kent, Wash., and Tylee R. Alford of Hillsboro; sisters, Ada Gifford of Winston and Pat Agee of Athena; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the American Cancer Society, Vernonia unit, in care of Carolyn Keasey, 14426 Keasey Road, Vernonia, Ore. 97064.
