Lucinda Noyer was born in Nov 1849, daughter of Charles Noyer (1829-1890) and Elizabeth Klopfenstein (1832-1907). She married John Jacob Deppeller in Crawford County, Ohio on 1 Oct 1868.

They had seven children: John Henry 1869-1914, Anna Lisa b. 1871, Lenetta, b. 1872 (died young), Cary Augusta b. 1875 (died young), Ida Alice 1878-1942, Charles Jacob 1881-1958 and Lenora Elizabeth 1884-1965.

As reported in the Fort Wayne Sentinel, Fort Wayne, Indiana (18 July 1895) Lucinda filed for a legal separation from her husband. This action clearly culminated in a divorce, since she then married Oscar D Kilpatrick (1840-1909) on 17 Aug 1899 in Fort Wayne, Allen Co., Indiana.

The 1900 Census of Fort Wayne, Allen County, IN shows Lucinda with her two youngest children in the household of Oscar D Kilpatrick:

1900 Census of Wayne, Allen Co., IN
Oscar D Kilpatrick, 62, Mar 1838 OH, railroad engineer
Lucinda Kilpatrick, Nov 1850, 49, OH
Edward H Kilpatrick, Dec 1868 IN, 31, railroad engineer
Ida A Kilpatrick, Feb 1878 OH, 22
Charles J Deppler, step-son, Feb 1880 OH, 20, railroad fireman
Lenora Deppler, step-daughter, Jan 1883 OH, 17, housekeeper

Lucinda's first husband's obituary falsely reports that she died in Nov 1898, and that he was buried next to her in Ohio. His gravestone however makes no mention of her.

The Indiana death certificate for Lucinda Kilpatrick lists her parents as Charles Noyer and Elizabeth Klopfenstein.
