They had seven children: John Henry 1869-1914, Anna Lisa b. 1871, Lenetta, b. 1872 (died young), Cary Augusta b. 1875 (died young), Ida Alice 1878-1942, Charles Jacob 1881-1958 and Lenora Elizabeth 1884-1965.
As reported in the Fort Wayne Sentinel, Fort Wayne, Indiana (18 July 1895) Lucinda filed for a legal separation from her husband. This action clearly culminated in a divorce, since she then married Oscar D Kilpatrick (1840-1909) on 17 Aug 1899 in Fort Wayne, Allen Co., Indiana.
The 1900 Census of Fort Wayne, Allen County, IN shows Lucinda with her two youngest children in the household of Oscar D Kilpatrick:
1900 Census of Wayne, Allen Co., IN
Oscar D Kilpatrick, 62, Mar 1838 OH, railroad engineer
Lucinda Kilpatrick, Nov 1850, 49, OH
Edward H Kilpatrick, Dec 1868 IN, 31, railroad engineer
