Norman David Bork went by ‘N. David Bork' and was called Dave by his family and friends. Dave was the son of Norman and Olga Bork. He grew up with his parents at 122 Loring Avenue in the City of Buffalo, New York.

Dave married Edith Sadie Huber on June 20, 1948 and together they raised their children.

Dave and his family later moved to Akron, New York where he raised Dalmatian dogs (Von Freck's Ethel May Cheese and Von Freck's King Richard). He also had horses.

Dave was employed by Ferguson Electric Construction Co., Inc. as an Electrical Engineer. Dave was called ‘needle-nose' at work by some of his co-workers because he was appointed to purchase gifts for the electricians. He ordered needle nose pliers for the electricians and the nickname stuck. Dave was every well-liked and respected.

Dave's wife, Edith died in 1984. He later married Phyllis Domroes on October 12, 1985. Phyllis died in 1996 of cancer.
