Casimer drowned in the Saginaw River when the family was living in West Bay City. The newspaper article, stated that Casimer and two Pollum boys had gone fishing in the river. At that time Bay City was a large lumber producing city, so there were many logs in the river. As near as the authorities could determine, the boys had gone out onto the logs, the logs rolled taking the boys under.
