Excerpt -- Funeral services for Mrs. Iola Squires, 82, former White Cottage resident, will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the White Cottage Methodist Church with burial in the Wesley Union Cemetery. Mrs. Squires died Monday morning at the Browning Rest Home following an illness from complications. For the past two years she had been living with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Dias of Shawnee, Okla., and for the past six weeks she had been a resident of the rest home. Mrs. Squires was the widow of Dr. A. W. Squires, former White Cottage physician.
She was a member of the White Cottage Methodist Church; an honorary member of the Eastern Star at Fultonham, and was a member of the WCTU of White Cottage. Besides Mrs. Dias, she is survived by two grandsons, Wayne Squires of Dayton, and Richard Squires of Ft. Wingate, New Mexico; two granddaughters, Mrs. Anabelle Smiley of Pocatello, Idaho, and Mrs. C. W. Wilson of Maysville Pike, and Mrs. Walter Squires of Los Angeles; and a son-in-law, L. E. Spring of near White Cottage. The bod has been removed to the William Thompson & Son Funeral Home at White Cottage where it will remain until 1 o'clock Wednesday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state for an hour before the services.
