Alan Brian Browne, 78, of Bokeelia, Fla., passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, Fla., with his wife of 58 years, Jessie, by his side. He was born in Binghamton, N.Y., the son of Adelaide and Harold G. Browne, and retired to Cape Coral in 1986. After service in W. W. II aboard the U.S.S. Bataan, Alan joined N.Y.S. Electric and Gas as an electrical engineer where he served faithfully and well for 35 years. He leaves behind his sons, Stephen Alan Browne, (Susie), Philip Brian Browne, (Maria), Daniel Eric Browne, (Tara); daughter, Lorraine (Lori) Landon, (Eric); eight grandchildren, Alaina, Jennifer, Christopher, Ryan, Bryan and Ian Browne, Zachary and Amanda Landon; brother, Harold Browne; sisters-in-law, Jean Abair, Yvonne Parke, Carol Joy Parke; several nieces and nephews; and special cousins, Barbara Moran, Connie Lee and Lucille Chamberlain. Alan was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a member at Alden Pines Golf course. Golf was a passion and he often shot a score equal to his age or better.
