Barbara Alice "Barbie" McCallum, Truro, passed away on Monday, Sept 3, 2012, in Colchester Hospital.
Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Ernest L and Florence (Fielding) Archibald.
She lived most of her life in Truro, with many happy years on Lyman Street and Normandy Avenue. She was a life member of First Baptist Church in Truro and a member of the Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary No 26. She loved being a homemaker. She was a kind and sharing person who took great pleasure in caring for her family and giving to others. She was a loving and very proud grandmother and great-grandmother.
Barbie is survived by her husband Ralph; five stepsons: Richard, David, Andrew, Robert, and Greg; sister, Ardythe Hopper, Manitoba; grandsons, Christopher, Alberta, Sean and Michael, both of New Brunswick; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Leah, and Wesley Glen, all of New Brunswick; nephews, Gary Hopper, Manitoba, Douglas Archibald, Enfield, NS, and Mark Olacke, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Weaver, in 1997; her son, Glen in 1997, and by brothers, Ronald, Douglas, and Ross, and sisters, Norma and Marjorie.
There will be no visitation or service, at her request. A private graveside service will be held with Dr Frank Guinta Jr. Officiating. Donations in Barbie's memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home.
