Col. Robert Ashcraft, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 28, 1933, in Quanah, Texas. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Air Force colonel and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a member of Daedalians, Posse Golf Team and Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association (River Rats) and president of the F86th Sabre Fighter Pilots Association.

He is survived by his wife, Joy; two daughters, Tina Barrett of Reno and Sherie Stephens of Las Vegas; one son, John Ashcraft of Pahrump; two sisters, Vicki Terry of Littleton, Colo., and Dixie Goodwin of Mississippi; one brother, Johnny Ashcraft of Quanah; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Nellis Air Force Base Chapel. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Daedalian's Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 9654, Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV 89191, or the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
