Rosalie (Rose) Lunsford 94, of Cibolo, TX formerly of Caldwell passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in New Braunfels.

Rosalie {Rose} was born on Aug 8, 1918, the daughter of Will and Agnes Baggett. One of seven children, Rose told many stories about her and her Sister Richard, walking to school on cold mornings, some of them were very funny, because of the trouble they could get in together. There were also stories of picking cotton, that were not so funny, but she usually made us laugh whatever story she told, she had a really funny side, and loved to laugh.

Rose married Clarence Burns Lunsford on June 26, 1940 and was married to him for 55 yrs. until his death on June 4, 1995. Rose and Burns were very much in love and still held hands everywhere they went, unless Daddy as she called him was carrying her purse so she could shop. Rose loved to shop and was quite the dresser and daddy usually matched. Rose had many talents including decorating, gardening, sewing and cooking. At family gathering often times Rose's cakes and pies went first, everyone asked in a whisper where Roses are pies. Rose also loved sports and could tell you most player's names and stats including batting averages.

Rose and Burns had a boy, Jerry and a girl Loretta Sue. Rose was so proud of her children. Jerry turned out to be very athletic and went to College on a football scholarship and was a quarterback. Rose and Burns attending every game beginning in grammar school thru college, except one in South Dakota, that they were heartbroken they didn't get to see. After Burns passing Loretta Sue and Rose moved in together and became great friends. Sue as Rose called her did Roses hair, nails and make up until the last week of her passing. Rose was so proud of Sue, she told all of her friends at the nursing home, more than once, and this is my daughter isn't she pretty.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband Burns Lunsford, her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Rose is survived by her children, Jerry Rogers and Loretta Sue Kelly, five grandchildren Barry Rogers, Pauline Young, Jeff Rogers, Dace Kelly, and Jennifer Lowery and six Great Grand Children Travis Rogers, Garrett Faust, Taylor Rogers, Mikayla Kelly and Brooklyn Kelly. Numerous nieces and nephews including special niece and friend Millie Coats and daughter in law Patricia Ann Rogers.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Caldwell Masonic Cemetery with Chaplain Roberto Cepeda officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers are Barry Rogers, Dwayne Young, Jeff Rogers, Dace Kelly, Jason Lowery, Travis Rogers, Garrett Faust, and Jayden Wylie.
