Allen LeRoy Honcharenko, 37, rural Max died on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in Velva.

Allen was born on September 19, 1970 in Minot to Arnold and Marilee (Moksness) Honcharenko. He was raised on the family farm north of Max. He was baptized and confirmed at Saron Lutheran Church.

He attended South Prairie School and graduated from Minot High School in 1989. He was active in FFA and worked at Ward County Implement. He was previously married to Lynette Hauf and they were blessed with three children.

Allen worked many years for Velva Implement as a mechanic and was currently employed by Dakota Midland Grain Elevator specializing in fertilizer application and mechanical repairs and maintenance. He lived in Velva, and recently returned to live on the family farm.

Allen enjoyed the outdoors, fixing farm equipment, raising cattle, reading atlases and encyclopedias, as well as, listening to music and dancing.

Those who shared in his life include his children: Matthew, Mark and Sara all Kenmare; father: Arnold Honcharenko of rural Max; mother: Marilee Honcharenko of Meridian, Idaho; sisters: Julie (John) Huettl of Minot and Jana (Anthony) Mathews of Boise, Idaho; niece: Margaret Huettl and nephew: Andrew Huettl both of Minot, special companion Kathy Gachne of Velva, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Allen was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Matt and Lydia Honcharenko; maternal grandparents: Bjarne and Elva Moksness; and uncles: Marvin Honcharenko, Roger Moksness, and LeRoy Moksness.

Funeral Service: Monday January 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church – Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens – Minot.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal but friends may sign a memorial register on Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
