WILLIAM CLAIR ASKINS, 63, of Rohrersville, husband of Mrs. Agnes Sloan Askins, died at the Washington Co. Hospital Monday morning after an illness of one year. Born in Roscoe, Pa., he was the son of Mrs. Kate Bunting Askins and the late Joseph Askins.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by daughters, Mrs. Donald Lawson, Ijamsville, Md.; Mrs. John Thompson, Boonsboro; Mrs. Charles Wright, Middletown; Miss Agnes Askins, at home; sons, William E., Keedysville; James S., Vicksburg, Miss.; Arthur W., Takoma Park, Md.; Bartley A., Hyattsville, Md.; Raymond M., U.S. Marines at Andrews AFB; Don A., U.S. Marines at Quantico, Va.; 26 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Bessie C. Gollick and Mrs. Stanley Raymond, both of Roscoe, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services were held at the Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro; burial was in Locust Grove Cemetery.
