Mrs. R. B. Caudill Of Blackey Is Called By Death
Mrs. Jane Cornett Caudill, daughter of the late Arch and Martha Combs Cornett died at her home at Blackey, Ky., Monday, August 21. She was born March 27, 1877, age 67 years 4 months and 24 dayss. She married R. B. Caudill July 5th, 1900, and unto them were born, 2 sons: Demps, having preceeded her in death in 1929; Hubert, at home: two daughters: Mrs. Lottie Caudill Davis, Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Lizzie Caudill Spears of Grundy, Va.
Mrs. Caudill professed a hope in the Lord some thirty odd years ago and joined the Regular Baptist Church August 1931 and was baptized by the late Elder W. G. Combs.
She became ill in November, 1943 and continued to grow worse until her departure on last Monday morning. She was treated by some of the best physicians in Virginia and Kentucky, but no aid was found.
Mrs. Caudill loved her family, but said: "Lord if I have completed what was assigned me on this earth and it's your Will I'm ready and willing to go." She said: "I've never done ONE thing in all my life I care for the World to know."
Funeral services were held at the home Monday evening by Elder Kirby Ison, Elder D. N. Asher, Elder J. T. Whitaker.
Tuesday evening services were held by Elder D. N. Asher, Eld. Charles Cornett, Hazard, Ky., Elder T. G. Bates, Hazard, Ky. and Elder Tip Cornett.
Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock services were held in the Presbyterian Church at Blackey, by Rev. W. L. Cooper, Elder G. Bennett Adams and Elder Tip Cornett.
Burial in the family lot in the W. J. Caudill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by the Evans Funeral Home.
