Kathleen R. Deal, 99, residing in Mishawaka, IN passed away of natural causes on September 4, 2012 in Hospice House, Roseland, IN.
She was born on September 2, 1913 in Battle Creek, MI. She married the love of her life, Lawrence R. Deal, on April 14, 1934 in South Bend. They shared 63 1/2 wonderful years together before his passing on December 14, 1997.
Kathleen was a loving mother, who was generous of heart and spirit, and always going out of her way to help others. She worked very hard inside the home, as well as outside the home to help support the family. She had many hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening. Kathleen was also an avid writer of short stores and poetry, and belonged to the writers club.
Kathleen is survived by children, Joyce Sirko of South Bend, Diane Verstraete of Mishawaka, Michele Deal of South Bend, Terrence Deal of Elkhart, Christopher Deal of South Bend and Kevin Deal of Mishawaka; thirty four grandchildren; and many great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Janet Mark and Colleen Seltzer; and sons, David, Michael and Timothy Deal.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, September 8, 2012 in St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, IN. Graveside services.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
