Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Aron Blurton, 76 year old Weatherford resident, who passed away early Sunday morning in an Oklahoma City hospital were held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of Christ in Weatherford, with Mr. James Jarrett, pastor, officiating, and services Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Crawford High School Auditorium, with Mr. Leland Burch of Durham, officiating. Services were concluded in the Silent Home cemetery near Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, under the direction of the R.L. Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.

Mr. Blurton was born in Gainesville, Texas on March 31, 1898 coming to Oklahoma with his mother at the age of 7, settling near Crawford, Oklahoma on a farm, and was also a blacksmith. He was married to Miss Lula Bell Brewer in Durham, Oklahoma, on March 27, 1917. He resided in Crawford for 22 years then moved to Perryton, TX, for three years; moved to Eakly, Oklahoma in 1949 and operated a blacksmith ship there until he moved to Weatherford and retired. He was preceded in death by Mrs. Blurton on November 28, 1970. He continued to reside in Weatherford and was married here to Mrs. Edna Hodge on June 30, 1971, and had been in failing health for the past few weeks, becoming seriously ill the past two weeks.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Blurton of the home, two sons, John A. of Perryton, Texas, Rolly of Bethany, Oklahoma, four daughters Mrs. Opal Hensley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Ruby Klien of Monroe City, Missouri, Mrs. Arlee Githens, of Perryton, Texas, and Mrs. Gean Peters of Glendale, Arizona, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 5 stepchildren, Mrs. George (Lavon) Bennett of Carnegie, Oklahoma, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Campbell of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Eldon (Betty) Glenn of Clinton, Oklahoma, Allan Hodge of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Robert Hodge of Amarillo, Texas, 17 step grandchildren, 23 step great grandchildren, one brother, Oliver Blurton of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and one sister, Maude Bull of Perryton, Texas.
