Funeral services for Delbert Allen Dinsmoor, ex-Olds & King department store executive, will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at J.P. Finley & Son with vault entombment at the Portland mausoleum.
Mr. Dinsmoor, who was active in merchandise circle in Slaem around the turn of the centry, died Friday in San Diego. He had gone there with his niece and companion, Mrs. Bertie C. Johnson, only a few days before.
He made his Portland home at the Mallory hotel.
Mr. Dinsmoor was born in Eureka, Kan., October 10, 1873. In 1882 he moved with his parents to Salem where he attended school. At 10 years he became an errand boy in Meyer's store in Salem. In 1897 he married ADDA DENHAM of Salem and shortly afterwards formed a partnership with J.L. Stockton.
The following year the partnership purchased the old White Corner store and the J.J. Dalrymple store. In 1910, Mr. Dinsmoor dissolved his interests in Salem and joined the executive board of Old & King in Portland. He held several posts on the board at various times, including that of president, until the properties were sold about 1930.
After the death of his first wife, he married Mrs. C. D. Bowles in 1928. They traveled extensively until her death in 1947.
He is survived by two stepson, J.C. Bowles, Seattle, and N.C. Bowles, Eureka, and the niece, Mrs. Betie C. Johnson, Mallory hotel.
