Joy Berg of Holiday Lakes went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2009. She departed this world with her six children and husband by her side.

Joy was born September 2, 1933, in Avenger, Texas, to Warner and Mildred Harwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant son, Donnie Ray Berg.

Her greatest passions in life were serving the Lord and being with her husband. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joy was an active member of the Holiday Lakes Baptist Church, where she enjoyed working in the kitchen, worshipping with her church family and singing in the choir.

Joy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Murrel A. Berg; six wonderful children, Glenda Pyeatt, Alton Bubba Berg, Michael Berg (Ramona), Susan Albair, Joy Wood and Donna Edwards (Robby). Joy also leaves 21 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Her three brothers, Glen, Bill and Leon, also survive her.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home.

Services begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at Palms with burial following. Brother Lynn Monical will officiate.
