Aaron Donell Torbert August 23, 1948 - November 16, 2008 PHENIX CITY, AL — Aaron Donell "Scientific" Torbert, 60, of 1614 Ridgecrest Drive, Phenix City, AL, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. EST Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Ross Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Albert Suggs, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Hurtsboro, AL, according to Taylor Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Visitation will be today from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Mr. Torbert was born August 23, 1948 in Russell County, AL; the son of Daisy Tolbert of Hurtsboro, AL and the late Charlie Tolbert. He was a cab driver. Survivors include his mother, Daisy Tolbert of Hurtsboro, AL; his wife, Cornelia Torbert of Phenix City, AL; a son, Kelvin (Judy) Smith of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Aneesah (Cole) Whaley of Seattle, WA and Dawnyel Torbert of Phenix City, AL; a brother, Charlie Tolbert of Huntsville, AL; three sisters, Charlene (Thad) Crowell of Phenix City, AL, Brenda Tolbert of Hurtsboro, AL and Nancy Wade of Columbus, GA; a granddaughter, Azja Torbert; special friends, Johnnie Mae Griffin of Dallas, TX and Dr. Gregory Foster of Seale, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
