JACKSONVILLE – Funeral services for Douglas Patrick "Red" Ford, 69, were Monday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. David Sharp officiating. Burial followed in Goshen Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Ford died Saturday, March 23, 2008, at Jacksonville Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Ford of Jacksonville; two sons, Tony Ford (Rachel) and Dale Grant, all of Jacksonville; one daughter, Alana Grant of Jacksonville; his mother, Betty Ford of Piedmont; two grandchildren, Matt Ford (Misty) and Derek McFry, all of Jacksonville; three great-grandchildren, Trevor, Shelby and Kyle; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were B. J. Chapman, Dave Schiffner, Ronnie Fowler, Bucky Mangham, Gordon Fennell, Larry Huey and Curt Hayes. Honorary pallbearers were Kim Hill, Kathy Poore, Kathy Schultz, Brenda Yevick, Patsy Haynes and Misty Schiffner.
Mr. Ford was a native and resident of Calhoun County. He retired from Anniston Army Depot with 31 years of service and was employed with Rozar's Paint Supply in Anniston. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Post 1669 in Anniston and American Legion Post 98 in Piedmont. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda McFry; his father, Fred L. Ford; and a brother, Fred Lynwood Ford.
