Hot Springs --- Services for Glen McEachran, 87, Hot Springs, will be 10 a.m. Monday at McColley's Chapel of the Southern Hills in Hot Springs, with the Rev. Gary Warren officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.


He died Wednesday at Hot Springs Veterans Affairs Medical Center.


He was born Jan. 7, 1904, at Ord, Neb., to Hugh and Agnes (Alley) McEachran. When he was 5 his family moved by covered wagon to Hamill, where his parents homesteaded.


He attended a rural school in Tripp County and spent most of his youth helping his parents at home. From 1941 to 1944 he served his country in the Army.


In 1944 he married Genevieve Hickman in Salt Lake City, Utah.


After returning from military duty he was a truck driver, heavy equipment operator and rancher. He owned and operated a ranch in the White River area about 20 years. In 1964 he relocated his ranching operation to Hot Springs, where he ranched until 1990.


He was a member of the American Legion in White River.


Survivors include his wife, of Hot Springs; three sons; two daughters; a sister, Frances Gibson of Danville, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and two great-grandsons.


He was preceded in death by a sister and three infant children.
