Siesmon (Sie) Long 81, of West Plains, MO, went to be with the Lord at 4:30a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.

Sie was born on October 17, 1930 in Duggensville, Missouri, to Port Long and Dorothy McBride Long. On June 22, 1954, he joined in a lifelong union with Phyllis Anderson Long. His commitment to family was rooted in his upbringing, this foundation was impressive and witnessed by anyone who had a relationship with this man of extreme character and strength.

Sie was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, music, and building everything from homes to hunting stands. His favorite past time was, without question, spending time with the beautiful family he had a part in creating. Sie faithfully attended Mammoth Assembly of God Church located in Gainesville, Missouri, prior to his retirement. After relocating to West Plains, Missouri, Sie became a vested member of the Victory Family Worship Center. Although his health prevented regular attendance in the last few months of his life, Sie enjoyed the fellowship of his brothers and sisters in Christ when he was able to attend services.

Sie is survived by his wife, Phyllis(Anderson) Long; four daughters, Kimberly Sinor and husband Steve, Dana Headrick and husband Jeff, Rhonda Wright and husband Mark, and daughter Trichia Long. Eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one sister Lola Weatherman, one brother Albert Long and wife Ann, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends also survived him.

Sie was preceded in death by; one daughter, Marchetta Sue Long; parents Port and Dorothy Long; three brothers, Nathan, Hurble, Daniel; and one sister, Blanch Grover.

Sie had a zest for life, a true talent in anything related to music, and a GRAND sense of humor. He was a man of integrity who had a work ethic second to none. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as he will continue to live in the heart of his wife, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Sie will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012, at Mammoth Assembly of God Church south of Gainesville, MO. Burial will be in the Mammoth Cemetery.
