Orangeburg - Loretta Griffith Brown Bramlett died on Sunday, June 28, 2009. She is the daughter of the late Julian Kennerly Griffith and Lillie Bates Griffith. She was born April 10, 1928, in Orangeburg County. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 47 years, Daniel Jesse "D.J." Brown and her second husband, Alfred Leon "Pete" Bramlett. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at St. Paul™s United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kristen Richardson-Frick and the Rev. Carl Harris officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the E.S. Jones Sunday School Class. She is survived by her children, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel J. "Danny" (Wendy) Brown Jr. of Lexington, RADM and Mrs. J. Williams "Bill" (Harriet) Goodwin of Washington, D.C., and her step-children, Mr. and Mrs. Wyndell (Cindy) Dodgins of Orangeburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Timothy (Sharon) Bramlett of Greer; four grandchildren, Jonathan Goodwin, Kyle Brown, Lauren Goodwin and Ryan Brown; step-grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott (Katie) French, Zane Bramlett, Bryan Dodgins and Jeri Bramlett. After completing business school, she was employed by the Tri-County Hospital. She also worked for the Urological Institute and retired in July 1991. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was a member of the E.S. Jones Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1356 Amelia St., Orangeburg, SC 29115, or a charity of one's choice. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home.
