She was born Jan. 18, 1922 in Richmond County, a daughter of Arthur G. and Daisy Baucom Lomax. She had been a resident of Jamestown most of her adult life and was a former employee of Kroger. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kermit Lomax; and a son, Darrell Hughes.
Surviving are one son, Larry Morris Hughes of 1400 Bailey Circle; three brothers, James Lomax of Winston-Salem, Donald Lomax of Charlotte and Jerry Lomax of Laurinburg; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Miller of Winston-Salem.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sechrest Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Roger Porter. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The body will remain at Sechrest Funeral Home, 1301, E. Lexington Ave., where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight. At other times, they will be at the home of a niece, Mrs. Linda Anderson, Janice Drive, High Point.
