She was in her 82nd year. Death was due to a heart condition that came only a short time before her passing and was attributed to the infirmities of advanced years. Mrs. Shaver had enjoyed unusual health until a short time before death. She had visited Mount union relatives last Summer and seemed to be in fine health.
Mrs. Shaver was the former Eunice Ellen Buckley, a daughter of Allen and Ellen (King) Buckley and her girlhood days were spent in the stone house at Shirley Ayr Farms where the Buckley family lived.
Mrs. Shaver was married to Forrest Shaver, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Derick Shaver, well-known early settlers of Hill Valley and Mount Union. Mr. Shaver died some years ago and one son, George Shaver, died about three years ago.
Funeral services were held at Troy, N.Y. on November 3, 1948, and the remains were brought to Mount Union Friday, November 5, for interment in the family plot in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Accompanying were the two surviving daughters, Dr. Edna Shaver of Troy, N.Y. and Mrs. Olive Sloss, of East Chicago, Ind., and Joseph Vetter, Troy.
Also surviving are three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
