Bruce Alden Ryskamp

Bruce Alden Ryskamp, 83, of Metamora (formerly of Macomb Township), died Thursday August 23, 2012.
Bruce was born March 23, 1929 in Sparta, Michigan son to Henry & Edna (Robinson) Ryskamp.

Bruce served his country proudly after being drafted into the US Marines.
Bruce married Doris Hill on July 6, 1957 in East Detroit. Bruce worked in the mechanical contracting industry specializing in air conditioning and refrigeration. He worked for the GM Tech Center for many years, but particularly enjoyed the many years as an owner-operator of Bruce A. Ryskamp Controlled Environment Services, Inc. He was a long-term member of the St. Mary's In-the-Hills Episcopal Church in Lake Orion. He loved raising Clydesdale horses and flying airplanes.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Doris Ryskamp of Metamora; children: Mark (Michele) Ryskamp of Grosse Pointe Park, Bruce (Janice) Ryskamp, Jr. of South Carolina and Philip (Sue) Ryskamp of Grosse Ile; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two brothers: Rix (Clarice) Ryskamp of Arizona and Carroll (Joann) Ryskamp of Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Ryskamp; son, David Ryskamp; eight siblings and his parents.

Burial will take place Monday, immediately following Bruce's service, at the Metamora Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard.
