Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas for Emil J. Koepp, age 66, who passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at 6:30 a.m. at his residence in Opelousas.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Pastor Rick Olgsby of Community Christian Assembly will officiate at the services.
Mr. Koepp was a native of Chalmette, LA and resided in Opelousas since 2005 after hurricane Katrina. He was a member of Community Christian Assembly in Sunset.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Rice Koepp of Opelousas; one son, Nicholas Emil Koepp of Chalmette; one step son, Casey Patrick Rice and his wife, Mandy, of Chalmette; one daughter, Shelly Naquin and her husband, Johnny, of Montegut; and two grandchildren, Damion and Victoria Rice of Chalmette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil Juluis [sic Julius] Koepp and the former Vera Jean Weber.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Michael Quintana, Scott Sheafer, Sammy Coon, Danny Coon, William Hazel, and Terry Lizzua. Honorary pallbearers will be Damian Rice and Lysle Laussade.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedysis Home Health, Fressinus Dialysis, and Heart of Hospice and would also like to extend a special funeral invitation to the employees of Opelousas Healthcare.
