Margaret M. (Cashman) Mara, 83
WORCESTER - Margaret M. "Peggy" (Cashman) Mara, 83, of Worcester, died peacefully Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Dodge Park Rest Home surrounded by her family.
Her husband, David P. Mara, Sr. died in 1990.
She leaves four children, Maureen "Molly" Moreau and her husband Paul of Holden, David P. Mara, Jr. and his wife Charlene of Worcester, Eileen Robinson and her husband Larry of Rutland, and Callie Mara of Leominster; seven grandchildren, Adam Moreau, Patrick, Matthew, Colleen and Kevin Mara, and David and Timothy Robinson; a sister, Helen Trainor and her husband Richard of Worcester; a brother, Robert Cashman and his wife Nancy of Shrewsbury; and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was born in Worcester, daughter of Frederick and Helen (Power) Cashman, and lived in Worcester all her life.
She graduated from the former Sacred Heart Academy in Worcester.
Peggy was devoted to her family. One of her favorite hobbies was to collect different kinds of small angels. She was also an avid parish bingo player.
The Mara family thanks the Dodge Park staff for the skilled and compassionate care they provided Peggy in recent years.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 5 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Her nephew Rev. Richard F. Trainor will be the principal celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
