Aged Man Dies
Rufus Housley was born in Canton, Ohio, Nov. 15, 1828, and died at the home of his son, W.R. Housley, near Polson, March 20, 1911, aged 82 years, 4 months and 5 days.
In 1842 Rufus Housley, then a lad of fourteen, emigrated with his parents to Christian county, Illinois. Here ten years later he was united in marriage to Miss Nancy J. Tyler. Seven children were born to them, five of whom, two sons and three daughters, still survive. They are Mrs. N.C. Harris, Kansas City, Mrs. John Bastable, Henriette, Okla., W.R. Housley, Polson, Mont., Edward Lincoln Housley, Grove City, Ill., Katherine Rogers, Laramie, Wyo.
In 1892 on account of the failing health of the wife and mother the home was broken up and the parents since that time have made their home with their children. The deceased going to his son, W.R., who then resided at Oxford, Kan. Some twelve years ago they moved to Utah where they resided until their removal to the Flathead some three years since.
The deceased had not been well for two or three weeks but was not considered seriously ill until a few days before his death.
